An opportunity has arisen to join our Venue Support Team as a Porter Supervisor at one of our prestigious sites within our historical venues portfolio.

Central Hall Westminster is our flagship venue and has played host in the past to a number of corporate, charity and private events including the BBC New Years eve concerts, James Cordon’s the Late Late show, the Burberry Fashion Show and many other high-profile events to name but a few.

We are looking for an experienced Porter Supervisor who will be responsible for offering logistical support for events held at Central Hall Westminster, ensuring that all events and meetings are set-up to client and company specification. With strong client service imperatives, the role assists in the delivery of operational excellence in staging for all internal, commercial, and Church events and meetings, whilst leading and directing the team of porters.

About you:

A successful Porter Supervisor will:

  • demonstrate practical experience in the events or hospitality industry and have previous experience managing multiple room, high volume and high-capacity events.
  • be confident in leading a team of porters, planning their daily tasks, operations and workload for the team to ensure that all event and venue spaces are set up according to event orders and to high standards.
  • support the team to deliver above expectations and have experience in identifying the team’s needs.
  • collaborate with the Senior Event Manager to agree clear, relevant and actionable targets for the team.
  • strive to achieve and motivate the team to provide excellent service throughout the day.
  • ensure all staff within the team always adhere to health and safety and standard operating procedures.
  • attend and participate in all necessary company meetings.
  • manage the company furniture storage areas and maintain an inventory of events equipment.
  • ensure that general housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • assist the Events and Facilities team with any ad hoc duties as required.

The position requires work during unsociable hours (weekend and early morning/late night working) and involves physical activity, such as moving furniture, breaking down large operational items including stage extensions, the ramp, changing the front-of-building flag, operating the mechanical stage and operating dividing walls.
